Ectropion refers to the outward rolling of eyelids, whereas entropion refers to the inward rolling of eyelids. When the eyelid assume these abnormal positions, they no longer function to protect the eye and can lead to significant eye discomfort.
Entropion and Ectropion Repairs
This patient suffered dry eyes due to outward turning lower eyelids due to skin scarring over time. Bilateral lower eyelid ectropion repair with skin graft obtained from his upper lids were performed, restoring the eyelids back to a functional position.
This patient suffered painful gritty eyes as the lower eyelids were rolling inwards, resulting in eyelashs brushing against the eyeball. Lower eyelid entropion repair were performed to restore the eyelids back to its functional position.
